Bass Pro Shops – The Strike. 10-minute demo (PC version). Smooth, gorgeous graphics; actual lakes, lures, and boats; can be played with a fishing rod/reel controller (PC and Xbox 360 versions); underwater *and* overwater views; lots of area to cover – lots of fish – lots of fun! I was skeptical of the realism upon seeing screenshots (after all, most modern fishing games are all eye candy with no substance). This game has proven itself to provide a great fishing experience. The fish fights will get your adrenaline pumpin’. A very engaging game with a tremendous WOW factor. Try it!

Good question! …
Good question! Bass Pro Shops: The Strike for either PC or Xbox 360 (avoid the Wii version) has great graphics and solid gameplay. Too many other games have great graphics but weak gameplay and lack of features. The very best overall game is Trophy Bass 4 which was released around 10 years ago and has weak graphics by today’s standards – but it is excellent in all other regards. VR SportFishing is currently the best simulation but is weak as far as a game goes – it’s still being developed.

Yeah this was actually my very first time playing the game. It’s not perfect as a simulation (I keep VR SportFishing for that) but it’s a lot of fun. This game is close to perfect as a whole.

Sure the game plays just as well and and is fun without the controller. But if you want to actually feel the fish fights, get the controller. It’s very cool! (it’s not just some rumble accessory – the controller actually pulls back when the fish does)
