April 30 (Bloomberg) — Bloomberg’s Adam Johnson reports from Louisiana on the impact on the fishing industry of the oil spill threatening the coast following the sinking of a BP Plc oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil is escaping from the well at a rate of about 5,000 barrels a day, five times faster than previously estimated, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Halliburton Co. said today it performed a number of services on the rig, saying it completed cementing about 20 hours before the incident. Lori Rothman and Mark Crumpton also speak. (Source: Bloomberg)
